About us
Our history
Spring 1999 – with a vision and a great deal of commitment, we, Mag. Irmengard Weckauf-Hanzal and Peter Weckauf, founded SAMI International. Today – 20 years later – our security concepts and systems are taught in more than 50 countries. All of our training programs have a history, and to this day we keep questioning them and reviewing their efficiency. Our experience – and that of our instructors in the field – from courses with police special units, police officers, training in the prison system, with security companies, professional groups and also private individuals always feeds into all of our concepts.

Mag. Irmengard Weckauf-Hanzal
SAMI-X Head Trainer and expert in security training
A qualified special needs and remedial education teacher, she has been an instructor in self-defense and martial arts for 20 years. As a systemic coach, she places particular emphasis on a holistic understanding of problems and is regarded as a particularly empathetic speaker, especially in training for the social and medical sectors, as she herself worked in precisely these fields for many years.
Peter Weckauf
Founder and Chief Trainer of SAMICS, expert in security training
Peter Weckauf is one of the most respected and professional martial arts and self-defense experts. His creative and thoroughly structured concepts inspire students, trainers and authorities around the world. He has made a name for himself particularly as a trainer for police special units and prison officers. In addition to his 20 years of experience in training trainers, institutions and authorities, he also contributes his expertise as a security specialist and weapons expert.
Anton Dyk
WEGA officer and trainer
Thanks to his many years as a SAMI instructor, police operational trainer and member of the WEGA special unit (Vienna police), he brings a combination of experience and know-how that is hard to find in this form. Through his ongoing initial and further training in the SAMI concepts since 2007, as well as in communication and de-escalation, shooting technique, operational tactics and operational techniques, he has acquired a broad, interlocking skill tree that makes it possible to offer professional training in order to be prepared for any situation.
