Our history
Spring 1999 - with a vision and a great deal of commitment, Irmengard Weckauf-Hanzal and Peter Weckauf founded SAMI International. Today - 20 years later - our safety concepts and systems are taught in over 50 countries. All of our training programs have a history and even today we continue to question them and test their effectiveness. Our experience - and that of our instructors in the field - from courses with special police units, police officers, prison training, security companies, professional groups and private individuals is always incorporated into all our concepts.

The trained special and remedial teacher has been an instructor for self-defense and martial arts for 20 years. As a systemic coach, she places particular emphasis on a holistic approach to problems and is regarded as a particularly empathetic lecturer, especially in training courses in the social and medical fields, as she herself has worked in precisely these fields for many years.
Peter Weckauf
Founder and head trainer at SAMICS, expert in safety training
Peter Weckauf is one of the most respected and professional martial arts and self-defense experts. His creative and fundamentally structured concepts inspire students, trainers and authorities all over the world. In particular, he has made a name for himself as a trainer for special police units and law enforcement officers. In addition to his 20 years of experience in training trainers, institutions and authorities, he also offers his expertise as a security specialist and weapons expert.
Anton Dyk
WEGA civil servant and trainer
Due to his many years as a SAMI instructor, police operations trainer and member of the special unit WEGA, he brings with him a mixture of experience and know-how that is hard to find in this form. Through the training and further education in the SAMI concepts, as well as in the areas of communication and de-escalation, shooting techniques, operational tactics and operational technology, which has been ongoing since 2007, a broad, interlocking skill tree has been learned, which makes it possible to offer professional training in order to be prepared for every situation
