The most important question for us in the run-up to such seminars is what exactly do we want to convey to the participants?
There are, of course, numerous topics on the subject of SAM-X PRO that would be interesting and certainly instructive for the seminar participants. However, we have a special demand on ourselves and a goal for every seminar, namely that the participants learn as much as possible about the topic. Helpful and Sustainable can take with them.
First of all, we would like to mention that it is a great experience for every instructor, trainer and lecturer to work with 60 highly motivated and eager-to-learn operational trainers and officers from the judiciary, police and customs. Thanks to the passionate commitment of Axel Hempel and Dominik Oppold, such a large and interested group came together in a very short space of time.
It is important to note that we do not allow civilians on our SAMI-X PRO courses!
Especially for authorities, it is a must to develop simple solution concepts within the framework of the regulations and legal situation and to protect all parties involved. That's why SAMI-X PRO is a perfect system, because it has it all.
But back to the seminar! To start with, it was important for us to convey a basic understanding of the system and the SAMI-X Pro concepts. With ABC/D and a clear action plan, this is easy for us as trainers to explain.
We then immediately started with the deployment techniques, the associated transitions (links) and the so-called "Grip 2 Grip Drills". To test these, practical scenarios - alone or in teams of 2 or 3 people - were then on the agenda.
An important part of the training is also accepting mistakes in practice, working with them and finding new solutions based on the concepts learned. This was a perfect way to gain control over a person in a sitting and lying position later on.
With an excerpt from the GAP program, the "Ground Action Plan", the participants now had the opportunity to train as a team for these special situations.
A short excursion to the use of the telescopic stick to experience the possibilities of technology transfer rounded off the program for the day.
Day 2
The second day was reserved for a smaller group and focused on handling the weapon in extreme situations such as knife defense and weapon protection. Different scenarios and applications were addressed to show that special situations also require special solutions.
Weapon protection is also a sensitive issue in general - we can report on this from our experience with many different special units with whom we have trained our programs. One key principle applies to all weapon carriers, namely to take the protection of the weapon really seriously.
Three hours of intensive training with lots of sweat and exertion were a great experience for everyone.
Finally, we would like to pay tribute to our fantastic hosts Axel Hempel and Dominik Oppold and say a big thank you for organizing the event. With planning and execution like this, we will be happy to come back any time. "See you again next year!"
